Japanese food in Marlborough! Ryo had sushi for dinner with his Homestay family.
He taught his host family's daughter, Beatrix, how to use chopsticks properly...
Clean plates is a good sign!
Narutaka and Yotaro playing badminton in the garden of his homestay family
He also plays table tennis beautifully!
On Monday and Tuesday the boys ate a British Breakfast (toast with Marmite and Marmalade, and cereal with milk and berries on Monday and scrambled eggs on toast on Tuesday with lashings of British tea and orange juice. Their homestay mother, Kate, cooked a Japanese style breakfast for the family. They drank some lovely and very refreshing green tea which the boys brought with them and ate white, steamed rice with chop sticks and drank chicken noodle soup with tofu from bowls with two hands. This is a very unusual breakfast for a British person but Kate and her family really enjoyed it and say that they will definitely do it again.
Yotaro and Narutaka seemed to enjoy it too and ate everything up (as usual), which makes cooking for them very satisfying!
Shogo and Yosuke went to an English pub for dinner!
Takuto and Kosuke were taken to a concert to see an up and coming singer, Declan McKenna, perform. Afterwards they went out for supper to an Italian restaurant.
