Homestay Families

The boys are being looked after very well by their homestay families. They have been taken out for traditional English meals in Marlborough.

Fumiya was taken for Fish and Chips in Marlborough!

Narutaka and Yotaro had a traditional, British 'Fish 'n Chip' supper by the river at Axford Weir.
Poppy was given a little bit of fish too .. but was more interested in what was happening in the water!
The boys enjoyed the food,
The water is beautifully clean and clear and the pool beneath the weir is about 2m deep.
Poppy loves it.
When we got home the boys had pudding (jelly and ice-cream) and settled down to prepare for Japanese Corner tomorrow.
They listened to pop  music on the computer whilst drawing and colouring for about 2 hours

Tatsuya had a full English Breakfast to start the day!

Yipeee sunshine and day off Exploring Avebury

Then to Caen Hill Locks in Devizes - Tatsuya found this most interesting. The weather had been really kind to us for all the outdoor activities.

And at last Tatsuya can't wait to get his hands on the scones.

Shintaro visited some friends and their animals!

He is getting on very well with his 'Homestay brothers' and enjoys playing games with them.

Activities!

The boys had a lot of fun playing Zord football and Target Shooting in the evening. This was their favourite activity so far and, as you can see, they all got stuck in...

Japan Corner!

The first Japan Corner was a great success and the most popular event in the end of week Summer School Show. The boys showed off many aspects of Japanese culture including calligrphy, origami, fans, costumes, toys, games and snacks. They were stars - great ambassadors for Japan. And it didn't rain!

A Day Out in London

Although it was not very good weather, the trip to London was a success. The boys traveled by train from Bedwyn to the famous Paddington Station in the morning. There, they were met by Ema McRae, a Japanese-speaking guide who led them to the British Museum, Covent Garden, The Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Then we traveled by river boat to Westminster where they saw the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. After that, they walked in the rain through St. James's Park to Buckingham Palace. Finally, they had some more free time in Picadilly Circus before returning to Bedwyn on the train. They were exhausted and many of them slept on the way back but they had seen a lot for one day!
